ESF Camps is hiring Nurses to join our mission-driven team at SITE NAME in CITY! The Camp Nurse ensures the health and safety of all on-site campers, Team members and visitors; obtains and maintains health records and documents; administers basic first aid and medications and responds to emergencies as necessary.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect and maintain camper and team member health records in accordance with ESF Policies
  • Administer appropriate care in compliance with ESF Standards, Policies, Guidelines and Procedures
  • Serve as a liaison between ESF Camps and parents/guardians - Assist parents and Team members with medical and health questions
  • Educate Team members on health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, basic first aid, Epi-Pen and rescue inhaler administration, and serve as a resource for emergency response procedures
  • Manage Camp Nurse's office/area and ensure the office/area is clean and organized - Maintain supply inventory and order as necessary
  • Work effectively with co-workers, typically one other Nurse on site, as a team and collaborate on various responsibilities
  • Inform site director of any concerns regarding the health and safety of the campers.
  • Communicate with clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community
  • Demonstrate the ESF Core Values and Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily

Requirements:

  • Valid license as a professional RN
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Pediatric nursing experience
  • Graduation from a NLN accredited program - BS in Nursing (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certifications (preferred)
  • Proven success in working with children and young adults with medical conditions, including but not limited to; food allergies, diabetes, seizure disorders (preferred)
  • Proven success in working with children and young adults with special needs and/or disabilities (preferred)
  • Hours are typically between 7:30am-3:30pm or between 10:30am-6:30pm, Monday - Friday.
  • Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
  • Respond to emergency situations which may include running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion
  • The site director must approve any non-contracted requests for time off, schedule changes, or alterations to the schedule.
  • It is understood you will complete all trainings and pre-employment credentials required by ESF and the state you are working in.
  • Follow the ESF Code and maintain the "ESF Look" at all times



Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Site Director and Assistant Site Director regarding daily camp operations.
  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Director of Nursing and Camp Medical Doctor regarding nursing practice.

Covid 19 Health & Safety Protocols


ESF has developed and will be implementing an Advanced Safety Plan to ensure our campers, team members, and parents thrive in a safe environment. This plan includes detailed safety measures in the following areas. Team members will be trained on all protocols and full compliance is expected.

  • Limited enrollment and smaller group sizes
  • Camper & staff screening with use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cleaning, disinfection & handwashing
  • Premier outdoor facilities
  • Reasonable contact reduction, including social distancing practices
  • Symptom Management Action Plan
  • Specialized Safety Training

Nurses will receive additional training for their role, including areas noted below:

  • Daily Screening: Campers and Team Members
  • Support and ongoing education of all staff on recognizing signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Symptom Management Action Plan
  • Protocols if positive diagnosis: campers and/or staff
  • Mitigation and confidentiality procedures
  • Proper reporting to health authorities, families and staff as required.
  • Supporting efforts to ensure facilities are cleaned and disinfected per CDC guidelines.
  • Ensuring that quarantine protocols are strictly adhered to as required.
