Job Title: Camp Director, 76ers Basketball Day Camp

Position Summary:

What will you do all summer (in addition to having fun with your campers and fellow team members)? A Director is responsible for:

  • Supervising campers [ages five (5) to thirteen (13)]
  • Actively participating in all camp activities
  • Providing a safe and fun learning environment and serving as a positive role model
  • Follow the 76ers Basketball Camp Program Curriculum
  • Assisting GM with hiring of camp staff


Position Objective/Purpose:

76ers Basketball Camps is hiring motivated leaders with prior basketball coaching experience who believe in our mission, build positive relationships and ensure the well-being of our campers.


Position Scope Factors:

Director hours are from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Start and end times may vary depending on the location and camp. Depending on the location, Directors work up to five (5) weeks in June and August.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to deliver basketball programming and instruction based on the 76ers Camps Program Curriculum
  • Perform group supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health and safety, security and skill development
  • Manage and develop team members; administer end of summer staff evaluations
  • Monitor the organization, supervision and administration of all basketball activities
  • Ensure the safety and security of all campers and team members
  • Run morning briefings daily with team
  • Coordinate and communicate daily schedules with campers and staff
  • Oversee morning and afternoon extended day activities
  • Interface with camp parents/guardians through written and verbal communication
  • Attend all pre-camp meetings and trainings
  • Complete paperwork as assigned
  • Exhibit 76ers Basketball Camp core values at all times and to adhere to all company policies
  • Have fun!
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a basketball supervisory capacity
  • Prior staff supervision experience
  • Performance management and facilitation experience
  • 5 or more years of basketball camp experience
  • Previous basketball camp director experience is preferred
  • Prior experience coaching high school or college basketball is preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree 

Certification Requirements:

  • Teaching certification preferred
  • First Aid/CPR preferred
  • Concussion Training preferred

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the 76ers Camps General Manager
