Position Summary:

The Marketing Communications Specialist is an experienced online marketing and technical professional who will plan, develop, execute and evaluate online marketing efforts that promote ESF Summer Camps and other ESF camp offerings to prospective and camp alumni. The Marketing Communications Specialist will also oversee seasonal/summer Multimedia Interns. This fast-paced role incorporates hands-on project management of digital initiatives, website content management, email campaigns, social media, and leveraging multimedia assets for dynamic communications. The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing ESF's monthly newsletter as well as implementing our interactive strategy, reputation management, and relevant content development.  

 

Position Objective/Purpose:

ESF offers a wide variety of programs designed to provide the finest camp experience for our families and team members. The Marketing department facilitates the communication of the ESF message, protects the brand and mission via online and print media in order to recruit/retain camp families and staff.

 

Position Scope Factors:

  • Develop, manage and execute a year-round interactive communication strategy and oversee the brand communication across multiple social media channels
  • Manage content on multiple websites, blogs, and social media outlets promoting ESF's brand and varied programs
  • Responsible for implementing our interactive strategy, competitive monitoring, reputation management, content development and postings

Essential Job Responsibilities:                                                  

  • Act as a project coordinator and collaborator with ESF's team members and seasonal multimedia staff on a wide range of online design projects (email campaigns, blogs, social media presence, etc.)
  • Provide training, oversight and project management for a team of approximately eleven (11) seasonal/summer Multimedia Interns
  • Ensure that web content is updated, relevant, and current throughout the year
  • Provide recommendations for ESF's online marketing efforts
  • Collaborate to build and manage ESF's social media strategy. This includes design, implementation, content management and outreach through multiple outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Implement email campaigns to promote events and retain camp alumni families and staff
  • Manage video, photograph and other multimedia assets for integration on our websites, social media platforms and in email communications
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in web content management and digital content marketing/social media
  • 1-3 years of experience developing and executing email marketing campaigns and managing social media outreach (blogs, Facebook, Linked-in, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Multi-media experience in video creation/editing and graphic design preferred
  • Photoshop and Final Cut Pro experience preferred
  • Strong copywriting and written communication skills are essential
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced working knowledge of all MS Office applications
  • Must be a self-starter with strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments while managing various time sensitive projects
  • Knowledge of WordPress or similar programs preferred

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; journalism, marketing, advertising or multi-media preferred

 

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience using website content management software (i.e. WordPress) preferred
  • Experience and proficiency managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Proficiency in email communication platforms (i.e. HubSpot)
  • Experience using graphic design tools (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite products) is a plus
  • Experience handling multiple content formats (text, images, video, and audio)
  • Experience with Final Cut Pro and/or AfterEffects, Microsoft Moviemaker is a plus

 

Reporting Relationships:

  • The Marketing Communications Specialist reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Associate Marketing Director

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves extended periods of time at a computer workstation
  • Some weekend and evening events will be required
  • Occasional seasonal travel to ESF camp site locations
